Jesus says that MANY are on the BROAD PATH TO HELL & FEW EVER enter the Narrow Gate & walk the difficult Narrow Path that lead to Eternal Life. We've All Sinned (Rom 3:23), so we are all in Trouble (Rom 6:23).

YES. Just are there will be different Rewards in Heaven for Believers, there will be different Degrees of Punishment for Unbelievers based on what they: KNEW & on their DEEDS.

• Luke 12:47-48 Jesus says, “And a Servant who knows what the Master WANTS, but ISN'T PREPARED and DOESN'T carry out those Instructions (what is written in God's Word), will be SEVERELY PUNISHED. But someone who does NOT KNOW, and then does something wrong, will be Punished only LIGHTLY. When someone has been GIVEN MUCH, MUCH WILL BE REQUIRED in return; and when someone has been ENTRUSTED WITH MUCH, even MORE will be REQUIRED."

AFTER the 1000 yr Reign of Christ (Millennium), those in Hades (a.k.a. Hell) will be Resurrected from Hades to appear before Jesus Christ to be Judged at the Great White Throne Judgment, and then be sentenced to experience God's Eternal Wrath which is to be: Cast into the Lake of Fire, this is Hell (Rev 20:11-15).

What Are The Different Names of Hell?   Hades Hades is the Greek Word most commonly used for the Hebrew Word Sheol. Sheol, for the record, is typically known in various translations as "Grave," "Hell," "Pit." Hades is the Place where Unsaved people go immediately after they Die (Lk 16:19-31). Hades, is like being sent to Jail (so to speak, and in elementary terms) where Unsaved People are in Torment, awaiting to be summoned to appear before JUDGE JESUS (Matt 13:41-43, Matt 7:21-23), at the Final Judgment: The Great White Throne Judgment (Rev 20:11-15), and are found GUILTY. They will then be sentenced and then sent to the Final Prison which is: Hell / The Lake of Fire. There are NO Exits out of Hades. Jesus tells a story of a Rich Man who died in Luke 16:19-31 and was sent to Hades. Earlier Translations of "Hades" (King James Version) most often translate Hades as "Hell". Sheol This is the Old Testament Name for the Place where people go when they die (without the Lord), much like the New Testament word "Hades". In the King James Bible, the Old Testament term Sheol is translated as "Hell" 31 times. Modern translations, however, do not translate Sheol as "Hell" at all, instead calling it "the grave," "the Pit," or "death. When translated "Hell" it refers to the place of punishment, but when translated "grave" the reference is to the souls of good men. Tartarus Tartarus is a Place where the Demons who disobeyed God in Noah's Day— are Bound in Chains, in darkness (Jude 1:6). It's a Prison for Angels (2 Pet 2:4), who will be confined their until the final Judgment (2 Pet 2:4, Rev 20:11-15, Jude 1:6), OR during the Great Tribulation Period, when many of these Demons will be loosed for a short time on the Earth to inflict pain on people. Tartarus is also believed to be Lower in the Earth than Hades. Jesus visited Tartarus after he died on the Cross (Psalms 16:10, 1 Pet 3:19). Both Old & New Bible Translations always translate Tartarus as "Hell."

BEFORE Jesus died on the Cross, Hades (Hell) was a temporary holding place for the Dead - the Saved Dead & the Unsaved Dead; it consisted of Two Compartments which were:

1. Paradise - for the Righteous Dead who were waiting for the Messiah (Jesus), to win His victory over sin and death 
   
   
2. Hades - for the Unrighteous Dead - A Place of Horrific Torment

These Two Compartments of Hades— Jesus called it Abraham's Bosom, and it had a Great Chasm separating the two places, you could at one time see into the other place, but you could not cross over, as Jesus alludes to in Luke:

Luke 16:19-31 Jesus said, "There was a certain Rich Man who was splendidly clothed in purple and fine linen and who lived each day in luxury. At his Gate lay a poor man named Lazarus who was covered with sores. As Lazarus lay there longing for scraps from the rich man's table, the dogs would come and lick his open sores. "Finally, the poor man died and was carried by the angels to be with Abram (MOST TRANSLATIONS SAY: ABRAHAM'S BOSOM HERE). The Rich Man also died and was buried, and his soul went to the place of the dead (Hades). There, in torment, he saw Abraham in the far distance with Lazarus at his side. "The Rich Man shouted, `Father Abraham, have some Pity! Send Lazarus over here to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue. I am in anguish in these flames.' "But Abraham said to him, `Son, remember that during your lifetime you had everything you wanted, and Lazarus had nothing. So now he is here being comforted, and you are in anguish. And besides, there is a great chasm separating us. No one can cross over to you from here, and no one can cross over to us from there.” Then the rich man said, `Please, Father Abraham, at least send him to my father's home. For I have five brothers, and I want him to warn them so they don't end up in this place of torment.' "But Abraham said, `Moses and the prophets have warned them. Your brothers can read what they wrote.' "The Rich Man replied, `No, Father Abraham! But if someone is sent to them from the dead, then they will repent of their sins and turn to God.' "But Abraham said, `If they won't listen to Moses and the Prophets (READ GOD'S WORD & OBEY IT), they won't listen even if someone rises from the dead (Jesus)."

Right AFTER Jesus Died on The Cross and Won His Victory over Sin and Death, many Bible Teachers believe (not all do - see below) that Jesus descended into Hades (a.k.a. Hell) and Visited the "Good Side" of Hades (Luke 16:19-31 - which was called "Paradise" back then), and Preached to these Godly People, referring to:

• 1 Peter 3:18-22 "Christ suffered for our sins once for all time. He never sinned, but he died for sinners to bring you safely home to God. He suffered physical death, but he was raised to life in the Spirit. (19) SO HE WENT AND PREACHED TO THE SPIRITS IN PRISON— those who disobeyed God long ago when God waited patiently while Noah was building his boat. Only eight people were saved from drowning in that terrible flood. ....(22) Now Christ has gone to heaven. He is seated in the place of honor next to God, and all the angels and authorities and powers accept his authority.

Jesus now holds the Keys of Hell - Hades and Death

• Rev 1:18 "Jesus says, I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death."

He then Proceded to take the Righteous Dead from the "Good Side" of Hades (Paradise) Up With Him as He Ascended Up To Heaven, referring to Eph 4:8.

• Eph 4:8 "That is why the Scriptures say, When he ascended to the heights, he led a crowd of captives and gave gifts to His people."
  

Pastor & Author John MacArthur says below Re: 1 Pet 3:18-22

Jesus Preaching to Those Spirits in Prison— Another Opinion of: 1 Peter 3:18 Pastor & Author John MacArthur talks about: "Peter (the Apostle Peter) tells us that Christ, in His flesh, was in a Grave. His Spirit went and Preached to the spirits in Prison. And I believe that is a reference to the demons that are in the Pit, Tartarus, the place of bound demons. And I believe while His body was in the Grave, He was alive--His spirit was alive. And He descended into that place and while Hell was having a party celebrating His death, He showed up to tell them that He was alive and had conquered. And He proclaimed His triumph to them. Colossians 2:15 says the same thing, “He made principalities and powers subject to Himself.” There they were celebrating His death, and He showed up to mess up their party and to tell them that He was alive. It was triumphant arrival; not one in which He had to suffer in Hell to atone for sin. That is a blasphemous teaching that miscomprehends and misrepresents the atonement on the cross."

Hell is a place where people will experience a "Second Death"

• Matt 25:41 "Then the King will turn to those on the left and say, `Away with you, you cursed ones, into the eternal fire prepared for the Devil and his Demons!"

1 - The First People to be thrown into the "Lake of Fire" (Hell) will be the ANTICHRIST & THE FALSE PROPHET. This will occur at the time of the Lord's Second Coming.

• Rev 19:20 "And the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who did mighty miracles on behalf of the beast—miracles that deceived all who had accepted the mark of the beast and who worshiped his statue. Both the beast and his false prophet were thrown alive into the Lake of Fire that burns with sulfur." 

2 - The Second to be Sentenced to Hell will be Satan himself. This will occur at the End of the Millennial 1,000 year Reign of Jesus Christ on the Earth

3 - The Third Group is the Unsaved of all ages will be Judged, and then Consigned to Hell at the End of the 1,000 yr Millennium

I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God's Throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were Judged according to the things written in the books, according to what they had done. The sea gave up the dead in it, and death and the grave gave up the dead in them. They were all Judged according to their deeds. And death and the grave were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death—the Lake of Fire. And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the Lake of Fire."

• 1 Kings 20:42 Then he said to him, "Thus says the Lord: 'Because you have let slip out of your hand a man whom I appointed to utter destruction, therefore your life shall go for his life, and your people for his people.”

Hell is a Place of Disgrace and Everlasting Contempt

Hell is a Place of Eternal Separation From God

Hell is a Place Where People Perish
