1 - Satan

The word "Satan" is mentioned in approximately 49 verses in the Bible. The word "devil" is mentioned in approximately 56 verses in the Bible. There are many additional verses that use other names to er to Satan.

From Genesis to the Revelation, if you look carefully, you can see the workings of the devil in numerous ways. Paul tells us of the devil, "We are not ignorant of his devices." - 2 Cor 2:11.

Regarding Satan, it is written,

When following Satan, one usually thinks in terms of "I." I will do this or that. I will become. I will accomplish.

But when we come to Jesus and allow "Him" to become the Lord of our life, the "I" changes to:

Once we have decided to follow Jesus, we "Should not henceforth live unto" (ourselves), but we should live "Unto Him"(unto Jesus) - 2 Cor 5:15.

We should not live TO "PLEASE OURSELVES" - Rom 15:1.

We are to "Walk, even as He (Jesus) Walked"- 1 John 2:6.

For "As He (Jesus) is, so are we in this World" - 1 John 4:17.

If we follow Jesus, there could be times when we do not have a place to lay our head - Matt 8:20.

The world’s ways are to acquire more and more, but God’s ways are,

Further, our Attitude should Not be:

For no matter what comes upon us, our Attitude should be,

These last two verses in Ezekiel give us an indication how Satan can deceive us. Satan was moving through the prince of Tyrus. It shows how Satan can put thoughts in our minds, and because we have a deceived heart, we embrace these wrong thoughts and believe them.

8 - Satan's Fruits

Before a person is born-again, recreated, made new, changed, converted, renewed in his mind, regenerated, and has yielded to the leading of God’s Spirit, he tends to follow the fruits of Satan. Once the person yields to God and receives Jesus as his Savior, he follows a different set of fruits. It is more than following; the new fruits become part of him. He yields himself more and more to obeying the Gospel with a good and honest heart.

Satan will try to bring the Christian back into the bondage of sin.
Satan will try to bring the Christian back to the fruits of the CORRUPT TREE.

Here are some of the Fruits of Satan:

Beware, lest Satan tempt you into following the fruits of darkness, and your name be Not found in the "Book of Life" - Rev 20:15.

9 - Rev 12:7-9

There is a war going on inside each of us. It is a spiritual conflict. There will be war in heaven, also. When the war began is not stated; however, it should reach its climax at approximately the midst of the Tribulation.

Note, Satan has angels that follow him. The angel, Michael, is described as "One of the Chief Princes."

He came to assist Daniel and to help him know certain things - Dan 10:13-14; also note Dan 10:20.

Michael is called "The Archangel."
When he contended "With the Devil he disputed about the body of Moses," but he did not

In the Revelation, Michael is shown to have angels. He fought against Satan and his angels and won—Hallelujah! Apparently, he will be present at the Rapture - ( 1 Thess 4:16).

Michael means "Who is like God?"

10 - A List Of Some of Satan's So-Called Victories & His Defeats

Rev 12:8 "And (Satan) "Prevailed not" (or he was not strong enough-NIV) (to win); Neither was their place found any more more in heaven." (or they lost their place in heaven-NIV)

Satan's access to heaven is now and forever cut off. Up to this time, Satan has had access to heaven; as it is written,

Rev 12:9 also covers spiritual warfare and deception.

It is very common to hear spiritually illiterate people make foolish remarks, such as, "There is no devil." Others may say, "Satan cannot deceive me." Such statements show they do not know, understand, or believe God's Word and they are already deceived.

During the Millennium, wars will cease. Sin running rampant, as it is today, will cease. This is not to say there will be no sin, but the rebellion and unbelief of today will decrease drastically. Satan will be cast in the pit and have a seal placed upon him, so he can deceive the nations no longer-ref Rev 20:3.

After the thousand years are fulfilled, however, Satan will be let loose and, once again, rebellion and war will take place as Satan goes forth to deceive the nations-ref Rev 20:8.

Many do not take God's advice seriously. They fall from their steadfastness in Christ. Some make very misleading comments, such as, "I can stamp Satan under my feet." It is written,

Satan's powers of deception are great. His ability to stir up our emotions can be overwhelming. He understands men's desires; he knows our weaknesses. The devil knows how to tempt us at our weakest points. He fills our mind with lying thoughts and convinces us that they are our own; often we believe the thoughts are true. The adversary causes us to be persecuted; he hinders us in many ways. The list can go on and on. Beware. Do not make the fatal mistake of underestimating the devil. The Tribulation is an example of Satan's power to perform lying signs and wonders, deceiving the nations. The wars and hatred that are presently in this world are further examples of his powerful deceptions. The Bible shows these things clearly, yet Satan has the power to blind the minds of many. As a result, they do not believe the very written words of God Almighty. Again, take heed and beware (Laodicean).

Consider the Following:

11 - Understand Spiritual Warfare

Try reading this verse between Rev 12:12 and 13.

Satan lost the war against Michael and his angels. He and his angels were cast out of heaven.

Regarding Satan:

"and strength" (or power),
"and the kingdom of our God"(or kingship),
"and the powe" (or authority)
"of his Christ" (or Messiah):
"for the accuser of our brethren" (or brothers)
"Is Cast"(or thrown, or hurled) down."

Rev 9:10-12 are heavenly scenes.

The saints in heaven are rejoicing—Satan has, once and for all, been cast out of heaven at approximately the midst of the Tribulation. This gives us the timing of these three verses.

The verse continues, "Which accused them before our God Day & Night."

Satan had accused the brethren before God day and night. Throughout the ages, saints have undergone the slander and abusive accusations of the devil; however, Jesus our High Priest sits at the right hand of God, making intercession for the saints. Because of faith in Jesus and through His blood, no accusation against the saints can reach God the Father.

Jesus is the propitiation for their sins; as it is written,

The saints are justified by the blood of the Lamb (Rom 5:9)

12 - The Dragon

Note the "dragon" is another name for the devil
